# Workflows

> How can you add a worker to a shift? There are multiple ways!

In this article, we will discuss all the different methods you can use through Roosted to fill available shifts at your events.

## **Direct Assignment**

This method involves directly assigning a worker to an available shift. See **[Direct Assignment](https://support.roostedhr.com/en/articles/9497189-direct-shift-assignment)** for more information.

## Invite To Work

The **Invite to Work** feature allows you to offer shifts to workers even if you're unsure of their availability. This feature sends an invitation that the worker can either accept or decline. ## Preferred Workers

This is the method of you selecting which workers you would prefer to work this shift, you can also set an expiry so it will open to all workers with that Skillset should your preferred workers not fill all of the available spots within the selected expiry time. ## Shift Sign-Up

This is the method of allowing your workers to directly sign-up for available shifts.  See **[Shift Sign-Up](https://support.roostedhr.com/en/articles/9497212-shift-sign-up)** for more information.

## Shift Request

Alternatively, you have to allow your workers to request to work an available shift.  See **[Shift Request](https://support.roostedhr.com/en/articles/9497202-shift-request)** for more information.
