# Wage Types

> What are the types of wages you can use for your workers in Roosted?

What are they? Wage types are how Roosted decides what wage a worker should receive for a shift.

## Where do I assign each worker's wage?

Any admin with permission to view and edit wages can see them by going into the **worker's profile** and clicking on wages. This tab has a breakdown of all wage types displayed.

## Where do I assign them to a shift?

Wage groups are assigned to shifts based on what **[Payroll group](https://support.roostedhr.com/en/articles/9497345-payroll-groups)** has been assigned to the shift. Assigning a wage type to a payroll group is done from the payroll groups module under configuration.

## How do I create them?

These are typically created for you when you create a **[Skillset](https://support.roostedhr.com/en/articles/9491123-skillsets)**. If you need to create them yourself, you can go to wage types under configuration on the side menu, and then click on create type.

## How do I export them?

Wages can be exported on any custom payroll exports or any integration that supports them. If you have any questions, you can always contact your client success engineer.
