# App Troubleshooting

> Experiencing problems with your Roosted app?

If you're encountering issues with the Roosted mobile app, consider the following steps:

1. Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.

2. Confirm your phone's software is up-to-date.

**App is up-to-date:** The easiest way to ensure is by enabling auto-app updates through your Android or iOS device.  More information can be found on the **[Mobile App](https://support.roostedhr.com/en/articles/9490959-downloading-the-mobile-app)** article.  If you decide not to use auto-app updates, you can check if an update is available by going to your App Store or your Google Play Store and searching for Roosted.  On the App Store - if there is an available update, you will see UPDATE instead of seeing OPEN (as shown in the below picture)

**Phone software is up-to-date:** To ensure that your device software is up-to-date or to install new updates, it is important to follow these steps: ***Android*** To check if an update is available:

1. Open your device’s Settings app.

2. Tap **Security**.

3. Check for an update:

4. To check if a security update is available, tap **Google Security checkup**.

5. To check if a Google Play system update is available, tap **Google Play system update**.

6. Follow any steps on the screen.

***Apple iOS*** At any time, you can check for and install software updates. Go to Settings

> General > Software Update. The screen shows the currently installed version of iOS and whether an update is available. To turn off automatic updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates. Automatic software updates can be enabled on both Android & iOS, however, certain updates need to be installed manually.
